The Seattle Seahawks entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1976. They entered the NFC, but just a year later they were assigned to the AFC West.
They remained in the AFC West from 1977-2001, before the rejoined the NFC West in 2002. The Seahawks are the only team in the NFL team to switch conferences multiple times since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970.
The other three teams in the NFC West are the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Arizona Cardinals.The team has made the playoffs 20 times since its inception, and they won the Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013.
