The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team that competes in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) North division. The Lions play their home games at Ford Field located in Downtown Detroit.
Detroit started the Thanksgiving Day football tradition and has played on the holiday every season since 1944.
Running back Barry Sanders, 10-time Pro Bowler, NFL MVP, and Pro Football Hall of Famer, played 10 seasons for the Lions. Currently, NFL stars Jarred Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown lead the offense.
Despite recent success they are one of the four franchises to never appear in the Super Bowl.
