Indianapolis Colts: What to know about the NFL team
The Indianapolis Colts have been part of the NFL since 1953, originally starting out in Baltimore. They were among the three NFL teams that joined the American Football League (AFL) to form the AFC after the 1970 merger.
During their time as the Baltimore Colts, the team made it to the playoffs ten times and secured three NFL Championships. They also appeared in two Super Bowls, losing to the New York Jets in Super Bowl III but triumphing over the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V.
In 1984, the Colts moved to Indianapolis, where they now play at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana. The franchise has won two Super Bowls, claimed three NFL championships, secured nine AFC South division titles, and appeared in three AFC Championship games.
