In the monologue, Kimmel appeared to allege that Robinson was a part of a “MAGA gang.â€

"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said.

Kimmel's remarks about Robinson sparked fierce backlash from conservatives. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr harshly criticized Kimmel and suggested in an interview that Disney had to address the matter, or the FCC could be forced to intervene.

Shortly afterward, media conglomerates Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group announced they were pre-empting Kimmel's show on their ABC affiliates over his comments, and Disney then announced it was yanking the program from ABC broadcasts indefinitely.

Answer: Jimmy Kimmel’s show has not been officially canceled at this time, but Disney has suspended “Jimmy Kimmel Live!†indefinitely after the host’s controversial comments regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr made a threat to Disney if they refused to address the controversy. Shortly thereafter, Kimmel was pulled off the air.

"Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views or values of the local communities in which we are located," Nexstar's broadcasting chief, Andrew Alford, said in a press release.

"Continuing to give Mr. Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show in an effort to let cooler heads prevail as we move toward the resumption of respectful, constructive dialogue."
