Ariana Grande is an actress and singer who first broke through Hollywood when she starred as Cat Valentine on the popular Nickelodeon series 鈥淰ictorious.鈥� Grande went on to release seven studio albums, has received 18 Grammy nominations with two wins, served as a judge on the singing competition 鈥淭he Voice鈥� and was cast in the blockbuster 鈥淲icked鈥� movie as Glinda.
Grande was born on June 26, 1993 in Boca Raton, Florida to parents Joan Grande and Edward Butera.
She reprised her role as Valentine in the spinoff show "Sam & Cat" with Jennette McCurdy from 2013 to 2014. Grande also voiced Princess Diaspro on the Nickelodeon show 鈥淲inx Club: Beyond Believix鈥� and starred in the 2013 TV movie 鈥淪windle.鈥�
鈥淰ictorious: Music from the Hit TV Show鈥� was the first album featuring Grande and included the rest of the cast. She released her own debut studio album 鈥淵ours Truly鈥� in 2013. In 2014, Grande released 鈥淢y Everything鈥� and revealed 鈥淒angerous Woman鈥� in 2016. In 2018, Grande released her 鈥淪weetener鈥� album followed by 鈥渢hank u, next.鈥� In 2020, Grande released her album 鈥淧ositions鈥� and then "eternal sunshine鈥� in 2024.
In 2021, Grande coached aspiring musicians during season 21 of 鈥淭he Voice鈥� with her fellow judges Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John Legend.
That same year, it was announced that Grande would be playing Glinda in the two-part 鈥淲icked鈥� movie opposite Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. Grande is heard on the film鈥檚 soundtrack on songs including 鈥淣o One Mourns the Wicked,鈥� 鈥淲hat is This Feeling?鈥� and 鈥淧opular.鈥� In 2025, Grande was honored with an Oscar nomination for her role in the musical movie.
In 2014, Grande dated American rapper Big Sean and then went on to date one of her dancers Ricky Alvarez. She dated the late rapper Mac Miller for two years. Following Miller鈥檚 death, Grande dated comedian actor Pete Davidson. Davidson proposed to Grande just weeks after they began dating. The couple ended their engagement before walking down the aisle.
In February 2020, she dated real estate broker Dalton Gomez. The two got engaged at the end of 2020 and then tied the knot in May 2021. The couple separated in 2023 and finalized their divorce in 2024. In 2023, she controversially began dating her 鈥淲icked鈥� co-star Ethan Slater.
