Seven months later and a small mountain town in North Carolina is still rebuilding what Helene destroyed. The town of Chimney Rock is still inaccessible to visitors. Roads are getting remade, people are trying to bring their businesses back to life, and the town is one big construction zone. With help from volunteers, small businesses are hoping to have an operating town by 鈥渆arly summer.鈥� 鈥淲e will be telling others 鈥淚 lived through it, and I was one of the people who brought Chimney Rock Village back鈥�. It seems, at times, that this won鈥檛 end. You wonder if this will be going on forever,鈥� the Mayor of Chimney Rock says on Facebook.
