Female inmate sues Washington state after alleged attack by male-born prisoner in women's facility

A female inmate in Washington state is suing corrections officials after she says she was brutally attacked by a male-born prisoner housed in a women’s prison under the state’s gender-identity housing policy.

Faith Booher-Smith, who is incarcerated at the Washington Corrections Center for Women, alleges in a federal lawsuit she was "violently attacked" by inmate Christopher Williams, a convicted sex offender who had been transferred to the prison after identifying as female.

According to the complaint, the August 2025 assault happened in a common area when Williams allegedly approached Booher-Smith from behind, struck her in the face, grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground before "kicking her repeatedly."

She suffered visible injuries, including facial bruising, swelling and a laceration inside her mouth, the filing states.

The lawsuit, backed by the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR) and supported by the America First Policy Institute, argues the attack was the predictable result of a policy that allows inmates to be housed based on gender identity rather than biological sex.

"The housing of these male inmates with females … has led to multiple instances of violence and sexual abuse against the female inmates," the complaint alleges.

At the center of the lawsuit is Washington’s policy allowing inmates to request placement in so-called "gender-affirming housing." According to the filing, that process allows male inmates to transfer into women’s facilities and in some cases share cells, bathrooms and showers with female prisoners.

The complaint argues the policy relies heavily on self-identification, with limited objective requirements for transfer.

Williams, described in the filing as a 6-foot-4 "biologically intact" male and convicted child sex offender, was transferred into the women’s facility despite prior concerns about his behavior, according to the lawsuit.

A corrections official at a previous prison had warned against the transfer due to Williams’ history of violence, the complaint alleges, warnings that were ultimately not followed.

Booher-Smith says she had noticed Williams watching her in the weeks leading up to the incident and tried to avoid him. The attack, she claims, happened suddenly while she was heating food, leaving her with little chance to defend herself.

The lawsuit also raises questions about the response from staff, alleging that a corrections officer present during the incident froze and did not intervene as the assault unfolded.

In the aftermath, Booher-Smith reported ongoing pain as well as anxiety and trauma, according to the filing, which says she has since sought treatment for the emotional impact of the attack.

She is seeking damages and a court order blocking the policy, arguing it violates the Constitution by exposing female inmates to unsafe conditions.

The lawsuit argues the incident was not isolated, alleging that women at the facility have been "physically assaulted, threatened, intimidated, or sexually harassed by male inmates housed with them."

It also points to prior complaints and legal filings involving other inmates, arguing state officials were on notice about potential risks tied to the policy.

"In the prison setting, where inmates cannot escape state-imposed conditions, females are forced to live every waking moment at a dangerous disadvantage," the complaint states.

The National Review previously reported that Williams had been accused of sexually harassing female inmates and had a prior conviction involving a minor, along with a history of violent behavior.

The outlet also reported that another inmate filed a complaint under the Prison Rape Elimination Act, alleging misconduct by Williams and that prison officials said aspects of those claims were substantiated.

The Washington Department of Corrections told 91�� Digital it does not comment on pending litigation. The agency also confirmed that Williams was transferred out of the Washington Corrections Center for Women last October and is incarcerated at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center.

Virginia man accused of sodomizing 8-year-old girl allegedly tried to bribe victim's mother with a house

Cameron Scott Jared Mayo, who is facing charges for sodomizing an 8-year-old girl, tried to bribe the girl's mother with a house to drop the charges in January, a Virginia prosecutor alleged.

A grand jury indicted Mayo, who was already facing 10 charges, including forcible sodomy, on a fresh count of bribery in February, according to the indictment obtained by 91�� Digital.

Mayo allegedly sent text messages to the victim's mother, Christine Houff, who he shares a home with, asking her to help make the charges go away.

In court, Albemarle Circuit Court prosecutor Lawton Tufts read the texts Mayo allegedly sent Houff.

Mayo and Houff share a Virginia home that the mother was willing to sell and split the proceeds from, Tufts argued Wednesday during Mayo's pretrial hearing, The Daily Progress reported.

"You have the power to stop this, if you wanted to," Mayo continued in the texts.

Mayo was originally charged with the sodomy counts in December 2023.

A separate grand jury indictment obtained by 91�� Digital alleged that he repeatedly sodomized the young girl between June 2022 and June 2023. During that time, she was between the ages of 8 and 9 and he was between the ages of 27 and 28.

Mayo, who is being held without bond at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, will have a four-day jury trial in October.

Four men in Louisiana were charged with rape and murder four decades after 16-year-old Roxanne Sharp was found dead, thanks to a podcast and new DNA technology.

Sharp was found dead in a wooded area in Covington, Louisiana on Feb. 12, 1982. The Covington Police Department determined that Sharp was raped and murdered, but officials were unable to make arrests due to a lack of public cooperation and limited physical evidence, making the case go cold for decades until now.

Four Covington men face charges of aggravated rape and second-degree murder in connection with the 1982 killing of Sharp: Perry Wayne Taylor, 64, Darrell Dean Spell, 64, Carlos Cooper, 64, and Billy Williams Jr., 62. The men were arrested on April 21 and 22.

The Louisiana State Police credited new DNA technology and a podcast for helping make arrests in the murder of Sharp. The podcast generated new leads and information, as well as new witness cooperation.

Police worked with local radio host Charles Dowdy with the Lake 94.7 from the Northshore Media Group in 2025 to produce a podcast called "Who Killed Roxanne," which generated "new information, leads, and witness cooperation previously unknown to investigators."

Through advancements in investigative techniques and strong interagency cooperation, cases once thought unsolvable can still be brought to resolution," the Louisiana State Police said in a statement.

Sharp’s niece, Michele Lappin, told the Associated Press she hopes the arrests will provide closure.

Covington Police Department Chief Michael Ferrell said in a statement that his agency never gave up on Sharp's case.

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — Texas authorities have arrested an illegal migrant from Honduras on a Greyhound bus headed toward the southern border in connection with the violent rape of a man behind a dumpster outside a New York restaurant, according to prosecutors.

The victim, who passed out drunk before the attack, was allegedly beaten and left for dead in a parking lot outside the Esperanza Deli Cafe in Amityville.

Jose Ignacio Bonilla Garcia, 32, first met the unnamed male victim in the deli, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

They went outside around 4 a.m. on March 27, and the victim was so intoxicated that he collapsed unexpectedly, authorities said.

The victim woke up in the middle of the attack, and Bonilla Garcia allegedly beat him unconscious once again with his fists and a wood plank, according to prosecutors, leaving him "bloodied and battered" on the ground before fleeing.

A delivery driver found the victim hours later and called 911.

By the time police had identified Bonilla Garcia as a suspect, he had already fled the state on a bus. U.S. Marshals captured him in Rosenberg, Texas, however, allegedly headed toward the southern border.

He has since been extradited from Fort Bend County in Texas to New York and was arraigned Monday.

"Accountability for perpetrators of sexual violence is not just a legal obligation, but also a moral one," Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said in a statement. "My office will do everything in its power to ensure that those who commit such heinous acts are held accountable, not just for the sake of justice, but to protect others and to send a clear message that these crimes will not be tolerated in Suffolk County."

Bonilla Garcia is being held without bail on two charges of first-degree rape and one of felony assault. He's due back in court on May 28.

Forensic genealogy unmasks cold case suspect as strangler, sexual predator decades later: officials

Years after DNA evidence linked a 1991 killing and a 1993 rape in Massachusetts, forensic genetic genealogy helped investigators identify the man authorities say was responsible for both cold cases.

Evidence from the killing of Cherie Bishop in 1991 and the rape of Donna Bell in 1993 was uploaded to the Combined DNA Index System, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said Thursday.

"For decades, the Bishop and Bell families were deprived of the full story of what happened to their loved ones," Cruz said. "They carried these tragedies across lifetimes."

Investigators said Bishop, 28, was found strangled in a wooded area near her Brockton apartment in June 1991. Bell was raped in Brockton in 1993.

Bishop was found dead in nearby Mulberry Park, wearing only socks and a diamond earring, Cruz said. Her cause of death was ruled to be mechanical asphyxiation, and the manner of death was homicide.

Investigators collected DNA evidence through a rape kit and analyzed it at the time, but no suspect was identified. The evidence was later retested as forensic genealogy techniques continued to advance.

A rape kit was also collected in Bell’s case.

Cruz said Bell was abducted from the street and sexually assaulted by a man in a vehicle, who threatened to strangle her if she resisted.

She managed to escape after, authorities said, she seized a sharp object. Bell died in 2021.

Cruz said investigators had known since 2016 that the cases were connected, but available DNA evidence did not identify a suspect until advances in forensic genetic genealogy provided a breakthrough.

"Their exhaustive investigative work, combined with a DNA sample match, identified Robert Carey as the perpetrator," Cruz said.

The district attorney’s office said Othram, a Texas forensic genealogy lab, identified a likely relative of the suspect, helping investigators ultimately identify Carey.

Carey, who died of natural causes in June 2025 at 64, lived at the Brockton Veterans Administration Medical Center, about 1.5 miles from both crime scenes, the district attorney’s office said.

Elite school teacher known as 'Mr Wonderful' accused of heinous crimes against students

A former private school teacher, who was nicknamed "Mr. Wonderful," has been charged with three counts of rape involving two of his former students.

Matthew Rutledge, 64, walked into Berkshire Superior Court in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on Wednesday for his arraignment after Melissa Fares, 33, and Hilary Simon, 39, accused their teacher of abusing them when they were students at Miss Hall's School. The abuse allegedly happened between 2000 and 2010. He pleaded not guilty.

The allegations include claims Rutledge groomed and repeatedly abused students, according to statements released by the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.

"For a long time, I was living inside trauma without fully understanding it," Fares said in a statement shared by the Berkshire District Attorney's Office. "It was over the last several years that I began piecing together the truth of what happened to me: that Matt Rutledge had used me, abused me, and raped me. That I had been groomed and threatened into silence by a serial predator. That my youth wasn't my youth at all."

Simon said she was 15 years old when Rutledge first began "grooming" her, and that the abuse "continued for years" after she left campus.

A woman trying to build a life on top of something I had buried. And then Melissa Fares called. I did not know Melissa. I picked up the phone, and I told her I had been waiting for that call for 20 years."

According to NBC, citing a report prepared for Miss Hall’s School, Rutledge allegedly called out "Make way for Mr. Wonderful" as he moved through the hallways.

Fares and Simon said they discovered in 2024 that they had similar accounts of Rutledge’s alleged abuse and decided to pursue charges together.

Despite their allegations, the district attorney's office at the time declined to move forward with the case, citing Massachusetts' age of consent law at the time, which allowed for an adult to have sex with a person over the age of 16, according to the women.

The two women then pushed for legislation to close what they called a "legal loophole" and make it illegal for a teacher to have sex with a student.

Rutledge is now charged under separate rape statutes. Prosecutors have not publicly detailed what led to the decision to charge Rutledge.

"Miss Hall’s School knew," she said. "This whole school knew. They enabled a culture of abuse for decades. They failed us, our families and every girl trusted them to protect her. They must also be held accountable."

Miss Hall’s School said in a statement shared with 91�� Digital that it is cooperating with authorities and acknowledged the impact on its community.

Biological male killer housed in Oregon women's prison wins high-dollar legal settlement in sex abuse suit

A convicted killer who transitioned from male to female while in prison was awarded a large settlement with the Oregon Department of Corrections after a lawsuit claiming abuse by staff while housed in a male prison.

Zera Lola Zombie, a biological male who has been housed in the women's Coffee Creek Correctional Facility since April 2025, won the $295,000 settlement stemming from the 2021 lawsuit, according to The Oregonian.

Zombie, whose birth name was Daniel Lee Smith, was convicted of first-degree manslaughter after pleading guilty to beating a girlfriend, Samantha Lee Brown, to death in 2014. Zombie received 20 years in prison for the killing and 15 more years for a first-degree assault after a violent attack on a fellow inmate. Zombie won't be released from prison until 2049.

The Oregonian reported that Zombie came out as transgender in 2020, and began taking sex change hormones. In 2022, Zombie began the process of seeking a sex change surgery in prison.

According to the report, Zombie will receive $95,000 from the settlement, while Zombie's attorneys will receive $200,000 to cover their fees.

Zombie claimed repeated sexual assaults by a cellmate at the Oregon State Penitentiary, and further sexual assaults at the hands of a different cellmate at Two Rivers Correctional Facility, according to court documents.

The claim said Zombie was discriminated against based on gender, that officials broke the law by housing a female in a male prison, said they failed to "follow both federal and Oregon rules and laws concerning the designation and protection of plaintiff as a Vulnerable Adult-In-Custody ... at high risk for both physical and sexual assault," housed an inmate with a known sexual predator, refused to provide legally-mandated counseling and failed to report the sexual assaults per Oregon and federal law.

In 2023, a judge designated Zombie as a vulnerable person, forcing the prison to allow Zombie to live in a single-person cell.

"On this record, it is not at all clear that, without the Court’s intervention, defendants will refrain from placing plaintiff in a cell with an inmate known to be a sex offender, or that defendants will designate plaintiff as a vulnerable inmate," said an order written by United States District Court Judge Ann Aiken. "Plaintiff need not await another assault before obtaining preventative relief."

"While we cannot comment on specifics of litigation, we take all allegations of sexual assault seriously and are committed to addressing them thoroughly and responsibility, a spokesperson for the Oregon Department of Corrections told 91�� Digital. "We uphold our duty to protect those in our custody, guided by a zero-tolerance policy for sexual abuse and harassment. A Louisiana man who pleaded guilty to raping and impregnating his 12-year-old relative is an illegal immigrant from Honduras, federal officials confirmed to 91�� on Wednesday.

Jose Lopez-Montoya, 41, described by local media as a "Lake Charles man," faces up to 99 years in prison after repeatedly abusing the minor.

The Department of Homeland Security told 91�� that Lopez-Montoya is a Honduran national who illegally entered the U.S. in 2011 under the Obama administration.

The victim later gave birth in July 2024 and Lopez-Montoya admitted the child was his, according to KPLC.

Authorities said the abuse took place over a two-year period while Lopez-Montoya served as the girl’s guardian.

Lopez-Montoya was arrested on two counts of first-degree rape and is also subject to an immigration detainer.

He pleaded guilty this week to aggravated crimes against nature by incest and faces 25 to 99 years in prison, according to KPLC.

Doctor indicted on 81 new sexual assault charges in case involving dozens of victims

A Massachusetts doctor already facing dozens of rape and assault charges was indicted on more than 80 additional counts tied to his time as a rheumatologist and general practitioner at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.

Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said Tuesday that a grand jury indicted Dr. Derrick Todd on 21 counts of rape, 59 counts of indecent assault and battery, and one count of assault with intent to rape.

The new indictment significantly expands the case against Todd, adding to an already extensive set of charges across multiple jurisdictions and underscoring the scope of alleged abuse involving dozens of patients over several years.

While practicing at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Todd is accused of performing unnecessary breast and pelvic exams on patients.

Prosecutors said the alleged incidents took place from 2017 to 2023 and involved 22 victims ranging in age from 17 to 56.

Hayden did not immediately respond to 91�� Digital’s request for additional comment.

One of Todd’s lawyers, defense attorney Ingrid Martin, said in a statement to 91�� Digital that the legal team "have received no information about these charges, so we have no comment at this time."

Hayden said Todd’s case is unprecedented, saying, "the scale of victimization and the magnitude of trauma left in the wake of these allegations is something we have never encountered."

A man who got away with rape and murder for nearly four decades will now spend the rest of his life behind bars after investigators used a covert DNA sample, collected with help from the FBI, to finally identify him.

A Santa Barbara County judge sentenced Aloysius Winthrop James, 59, to life without the possibility of parole, the maximum sentence allowed by law.

A jury had already convicted him in February of first-degree murder in the killing of 30-year-old Ofelia Sandoval, with the special circumstance that the murder was committed during a rape.

Sandoval was killed on Sept. 18, 1988, in Santa Maria. She was found strangled to death, and despite what authorities described as an extensive investigation at the time, the case went cold the following year.

For decades, it stayed that way.

"For nearly four decades, the 1988 murder of Ofelia Sandoval remained unsolved. This past week, justice was delivered," the FBI said.

The break didn’t come until years later, as DNA technology advanced. In the early 2000s, investigators developed a DNA profile from evidence collected in Sandoval’s room, but it didn’t match anyone in national databases.

Investigators said DNA evidence ultimately became the key to solving the case. According to Cal Coast News, evidence collected in 1988 included DNA found on a towel and shirt near Sandoval’s body. When that evidence was tested years later, it did not match anyone in law enforcement databases at the time.

That’s when the FBI partnered with Santa Maria police to obtain a covert DNA sample from James. As the case was revisited, investigators later obtained DNA linked to James, including from a glove he discarded, which ultimately matched the profile developed from the original evidence, authorities said, Cal Coast News reported.

James was arrested in Georgia in April 2024. A jury ultimately found him guilty.

"A jury in California convicted Aloysius Winthrop James of first-degree murder in this long-running cold case — a breakthrough made possible in part by the work of the FBI in Atlanta collecting a covert DNA sample," the FBI said.

During the investigation and again after his arrest, James denied having any contact with Sandoval, according to Cal Coast News. But at trial, he admitted the two had sex, while claiming he initially lied because his father was a pastor.

His attorney argued the DNA evidence did not prove he committed the murder.

Now, investigators believe there could be more victims.

"Investigators believe there may be additional victims connected to James involving threats, sexual assault, domestic abuse, or other crimes," the FBI said, urging anyone with information to contact the Santa Maria Police Department.

A Washington man has pleaded guilty in connection with two decades-old cold cases after investigators reportedly linked him to both crimes using a clever ruse and just a piece of gum.

Mitchell Gaff, 68, entered the pleas Thursday in Snohomish County Superior Court, where he admitted to the rapes and murders of Judith "Judy" Weaver and Susan Vesey, according to the Everett Police Department.

Gaff – a diagnosed "sexual sadist" and self-proclaimed rapist – was linked to the two killings after investigators matched a DNA sample found on a piece of Gaff’s chewing gum to both crime scenes, according to USA Today.

The revelation reportedly came after detectives with the Everett Police Department visited his home in Olympia, claiming to be researchers working within the gum industry and inviting him to try a free sample – all while clad in shorts and T-shirts to make the tale believable.

Everett was initially taken into custody in May 2024 on charges stemming from Weaver’s death, police said.

Weaver’s body was discovered inside her home on Rucker Avenue after first responders were called to the scene regarding a fire on June 2, 1984, according to authorities.

Gaff’s admission comes after a lifetime of terrorizing his local Washington community, in which he landed behind bars on multiple occasions and was eventually required to register as a sex offender.

In 1979, Gaff approached then-29-year-old Jackie Brown outside her home as she was putting her lawnmower away, brandished an air gun and ordered her to get on her knees, USA Today reported.

Gaff proceeded to unleash a brutal physical assault against Brown, in which he reportedly began beating her in the head with the weapon and slamming her head against the concrete floor.

In a bid to save her life, Brown reportedly waited until Gaff put his gun down to try to escape.

"I threw my body against him and caught him off guard, and he kind of stumbled against the wall," Brown told USA Today. "I stood up, and I was trapped, and he said, 'You're going to die now, you [expletive].' And I knew I was dead."

Brown managed to escape, and Gaff was later convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and burglary in the case, according to the outlet.

Just four years later, while Gaff was on probation, he was reportedly arrested again after he attacked a pair of 14- and 16-year-old girls as they slept in their mother’s home on Aug. 28, 1984.

In that case, court documents reportedly revealed he tied both girls up with an electrical cord, cut off their clothes, beat them and repeatedly raped the sisters.

One girl managed to escape and ran for help, causing Gaff to flee the scene.

He subsequently pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and burglary, according to USA Today.

Throughout the years, Gaff reportedly confessed to attempting to attack up to 30 women and girls in one day in the 1980s and admitted to raping at least eight of them.

"I am so proud of our Everett Police Department for solving this murder case by utilizing advancements in DNA analysis techniques," Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin said in a previous statement. "We honor Susan’s memory as we bring this suspect to justice."

Gaff is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13.

A former fifth grade teacher in Louisiana was arrested on multiple charges, including those involving her minor students.

Marisa Noel, 31, faces a total of 25 charges, according to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, including 10 counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, one count of first-degree rape, two counts related to child sexual abuse material, one count of unlawful communications and three counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor.

Noel allegedly abused her position of trust with students. Authorities outlined a wide range of charges involving multiple alleged victims.

WEST VIRGINIA TEACHER FIRED AFTER ARREST ON CHILD SEX ABUSE CHARGE

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, Sheriff Becket Breaux launched an investigation into Noel Jan. 28 after receiving a complaint she was having "an inappropriate relationship with one of her former students."

Noel was a teacher at Teche Elementary School at the time.

With assistance from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations, there was enough evidence to arrest the former teacher on four counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and four counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, authorities said.

Authorities also said additional charges were added after another unnamed victim was identified.

The ages of the former teacher's victims were not revealed.

Noel was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on Monday, where records show she is still being held.

Upon being interviewed by the school’s police department on March 20, Kvern reportedly told authorities the interaction was "totally consensual."

Swalwell’s mounting sexual misconduct allegations threaten career beyond politics, experts warn

Mounting sexual misconduct allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell led him to resign from Congress and drop out of the California gubernatorial race, but legal experts say the fallout could extend beyond politics, including potential disbarment.

Swalwell is facing a string of accusations, including that he drugged and raped one woman and sexually assaulted one of his staffers, which have spurred at least two local criminal investigations. The accusations, which he has largely denied, have driven not just his exile from the political world but could now expose him to possible broader career repercussions.

Hans von Spakovsky, legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom, told 91�� Digital that Swalwell is bound by the State Bar of California's rules of professional conduct. Swalwell has had an active license to practice law in the state since 2006.

"It would be up to the State Bar to investigate and see if his behavior falls within any of these or other prohibitions," Von Spakovsky said.

Jonathan Turley, George Washington University law professor, said Democratic allies and left-leaning media previously "shielded" Swalwell but that the congressman was now "persona non grata without a friend in the world." Turley raised the prospect of disbarment.

"If these rape and sexual harassment claims are established, he is likely to face disbarment demands," Turley said on Monday just before Swalwell resigned. "Even his prior boosters at MS NOW and CNN are unlikely to offer him a media deal."

Several women have accused Swalwell of sexual misconduct or assault, including a former staff member who alleged, according to CNN, that he had nonconsensual sexual relations with her twice, including one time that left her "bruised and bleeding," while she was intoxicated. In the latest and most serious development, a Beverly Hills woman named Lonna Drewes accused Swalwell during a press conference of drugging, raping and choking her in a hotel room in 2018.

The latter accusation prompted the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to open a criminal investigation, which follows the Manhattan District Attorney's Office also announcing a criminal investigation into the claims. FBI Director Kash Patel also signaled Swalwell could have federal exposure, asking the public to provide tips and for the former congressman to meet for an interview.

Sara Azari, a NewsNation analyst who is now representing Swalwell, told the outlet "regret is not rape."

"The fact that you know a day later or years later or what not, you maybe had shame around what you did, or maybe you were in a relationship and shouldn't have done what you did, doesn't make it rape," Azari said, emphasizing that Swalwell currently only faced allegations and no civil complaints or criminal charges.

If charged and convicted, misdemeanors or felonies involving sexual offenses could lead to disbarment, even if the lawyer is not actively practicing law, according to the professional conduct rules.

A professor at Georgetown University recently dismissed concerns about Muslim rape gangs in since-deleted posts on X.

The Daily Caller reported that Jonathan Brown, identified as a professor and the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Chair of Islamic Civilization on Georgetown University’s website, posted two different dismissive replies on X in response to posts about alleged rape gangs and Islam.

In a March 31 post on X, Rupert Lowe, an independent member of Parliament in the United Kingdom, wrote, "There is a link between the rape gangs and one particular religion — we have seen it again and again and again at our inquiry. That religion is Islam. As a country, we must have the courage to face up to that fact."

In a since-deleted reply, Brown wrote, "Get over it."

Brown replied to the user, writing "Get over it" again.

In November, the State Department posted on X criticizing the United Kingdom over its handling of mass immigration, saying in part, "In the United Kingdom, thousands of girls have been victimized in Rotherham, Oxford, and Newcastle by grooming gangs involving migrant men. Many girls were left to suffer unspeakable abuse for years before authorities stepped in."

Brown's account is now set to private.

Brown previously had come under scrutiny for remarks he made in a June X post, writing that he hoped "Iran does some symbolic strike on a base." He made the comment after President Donald Trump’s announcement that the U.S. "completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran."

In Brown’s post, he wrote, "I’m not an expert, but I assume Iran could still get a bomb easily. I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base, then everyone stops. I’m surprised this is what these FDD/Hasbara people have been auto-erotically asphyxiating themselves for all these years."

A Connecticut judge has declared a mistrial in the case involving an 11-year-old girl who was raped and killed over a revelation involving decades-old evidence.

Marc Karun, 60, was on trial on murder and kidnapping charges stemming from the alleged killing of Kathleen Flynn, according to FOX 61.

Flynn, a sixth grader, was reportedly walking home from Ponus Ridge Middle School in Norwalk when she was attacked on Sept. 23, 1986. Her body was found in the woods along a path to nearby Hunters Lane.

Fabrizzio reportedly informed prosecutors that he was concerned about the possibility of evidence contamination in the case, leading Judge John Blawie to declare a mistrial – though he did not dismiss the charges against Karun.

The speed with which progressive groups have tossed the Latino icon overboard is stunning and suggests this: they knew.

DEMS FACE RECKONING AFTER PUTTING DECEASED LABOR LEADER ON PEDESTAL AS SEXUAL ABUSE ALLEGATIONS EMERGE

They knew about the horrific sexual abuse of girls as young as 13, reported in recent weeks by The New York Times. They knew that Chavez raped and impregnated a 15-year-old girl, who in later years attempted suicide, and routinely sexually abused other young women. But the left kept silent. Political opportunism trumped protecting women from a sexual predator.

The Times report has not led to lengthy investigations or hearings pondering the "allegations." There has been no push-back from Chavez’ family or friends – not even from the United Farm Workers union, which he founded. The Chavez revelations remind us yet again that Democrats, who pretend to care about women, are profoundly hypocritical. In explaining why his city is scrubbing Chavez’ name from schools and parks, San Fernando Mayor Joel Fajardo said the speedy do-over was necessary "to let our children know that we took this seriously, to make sure that we have a society that values the victims, that trusts the survivors."

HIGH-RANKING DEMOCRATS ADMIT TO KNOWINGLY ABANDONING WOMEN

Is that true? Consider the case of Tara Reade, who credibly accused then-presidential candidate Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her when she worked for him as an aide in 1993. Reade went public with the sordid accusations in 2020, months before the election that landed Democrat Biden in the Oval Office. NPR and other outlets, including the New York Times, found that Reade had recounted the incident, in which she claimed Biden pushed her up against a wall, lifted her skirt and digitally penetrated her, to a close friend soon after the incident.

The friend, Lynda LaCasse, described herself to a New York Times reporter as a "very strong Democrat," who supported Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren during the primaries and intends to support Biden in the general election. She was not a GOP operative. As NPR wrote, "She said she felt compelled to share ‘the truth’ despite her personal politics."

BROADCAST BIAS: MEDIA ATTACK CESAR CHAVEZ, BUT SKIP HIS BIG NAME DEMOCRAT FANS

Given Biden’s reputation for inappropriately touching women, and his daughter’s recollection of her dad's ("probably not appropriate") showering with her at a young age, Reade’s story is entirely believable. But Nancy Pelosi, at that time House speaker, said she had "great comfort" with Biden’s denials, and the world moved on. Reade, saying she was being threatened and was afraid for her life, moved to Russia, and that was that. Whatever Biden did, Democrats simply put politics first.

An even more astounding example of Democrats throwing victims under the bus comes, of course, from the seedy history of former President Bill Clinton, close friend of Jeffrey Epstein. Juanita Broaddrick accused the former president of raping her in 1978 in her hotel room; she varied her story over the years, including at one time recanting the charges in an affidavit relating to similar accusations from a woman named Paula Jones. But in 1999, she came forward, recounting again the alleged rape in an NPR interview. Broaddrick, too, had told a friend about the incident at the time. She, too, was credible.

And Broaddrick’s story, like that of Reade, fits well with the known behavior of Clinton, who was also accused of sexual assault by Jones and Kathleen Willey. Jones, who claimed Clinton had assaulted her in her hotel room, eventually settled a civil suit against the former president, for $850,000.

And, by all means, let us not forget Monica Lewinsky, a 22-year-old White House intern who had oral sex with Bill Clinton in the Oval Office. And, Clinton’s many trips on Epstein’s Lolita Express.

These are stories from the past, but there are plenty of modern-day examples of liberal disdain for women. Remember Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff, who cheated on his first wife by impregnating the family’s nanny, and was credibly accused of assaulting a former girlfriend. Nonetheless, the Washington Post’s Catherine Rampell described him as a "Modern-Day Sex Symbol" and gushed that he was an "ideal partner."

Worse, consider the silence from the left about the Iranian women's soccer team, who defied their country’s brutal regime by refusing to sing their national anthem. A number of players initially sought asylum in Australia, where they had competed in the Women’s Asian Cup, but after they and their families were threatened by Iran’s thuggish mullahs, they returned home to an uncertain fate.

Our hearts break for them, but not the hearts of those like soccer star Megan Rapinoe, who finally uttered some supportive words after being criticized for her multi-day silence.

And what about the left’s love affair with trans women, which has led to the thrashing of outspoken women like J.K. Rowling, author of the beloved Harry Potter books? Rowling, a defender of same-sex marriage and abortion rights, dared to criticize biological men competing against women, and was viciously canceled by the left.

Riley Gaines, a 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer, has been insulted and on one occasion assaulted by protesters enraged by her resistance to trans competitors.

NY prosecutor sidesteps sanctuary law and coordinates ICE arrest of Guatemalan child rape suspect

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. — A suspected child rapist from Guatemala who could have been released without bail under New York law was instead sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody in a move that skirted the state's sanctuary policies while keeping him off the streets for months before prosecutors secured an indictment, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

"Two progressive reforms...had to be navigated deftly to hold the defendant responsible for his alleged horrific crimes," District Attorney Ray Tierney said in a statement.

Due to the state's controversial policies, prosecutors weren't even allowed to ask the judge to set cash bail or bond on the initial charge of endangering the welfare of a child, according to the DA's office.

And because of the state's 2020 "Protect Our Courts Act," ICE agents could be subject to prosecution if they arrested the suspect at the courthouse following his no-bail release.

"Incredibly, up in Albany right now there are new sanctuary laws currently under consideration that would have prevented us from even talking to federal immigration authorities," Tierney said. "My message to our state legislators and governor is simple – stop protecting the rights of alleged child rapists at the expense of child victims."

Carlos Aguilar Reynoso, 27, has now been indicted for the alleged rape of a 5-year-old girl he was supposed to be babysitting while her mother was at work on Feb. 1. Her injuries were severe enough to require surgery, according to prosecutors.

Police arrested Reynoso the next day — before the crime lab finished testing the evidence. So he was initially only charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Tierney's office and the Suffolk County Police Department found a loophole. They released Reynoso with only a desk appearance ticket, rather than bringing him to court — and that allowed them to coordinate his immediate arrest by ICE for allegedly entering the U.S. illegally.

He was in ICE custody for 11 days while DNA testing was underway. When the results came in, they showed a match between Reynoso and samples collected from the 5-year-old victim, according to Tierney's office.

It would be more than a month before his March 23 arraignment on five charges, including three felonies: sexual assault of a child, first-degree rape and first-degree sex abuse.

He remained in ICE custody the whole time.

In a statement, ICE's New York Enforcement Removal Operations field office director, Kenneth Genalo, said the case shows how Empire State's sanctuary laws expose helpless victims to "unnecessary harm."

"Had there not been coordination in this case, this depraved criminal — who brutally terrorized a young child who will forever bear the physical and emotional scars of this violent attack — would be free to harm additional children in our state," he said in a statement posted to X.

The charges in the indictment rose to a level that allowed the judge to order Reynoso held without bail at the Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

"I would also like to commend ICE as a law enforcement partner for preventing this defendant from potentially fleeing these very serious charges," Tierney said.

Authorities said they declined to release specifics about the case, including where the abuse took place, in order to protect the victim's identity.

Reynoso is due back in court on April 27.

An illegal immigrant from Guatemala accused of sexually abusing a 5-year-old Long Island, N.Y., girl he was babysitting has been charged with rape, federal authorities said Thursday.

Carlos Aguilar Reynoso is charged with predatory sex assault against a child, vaginal sexual contact with a child, sexual abuse, acting in a manner to injure a child and resisting arrest, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.

Reynoso was originally charged with only child endangerment. However, local authorities asked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest him while they gathered evidence to build a larger case against him.

Reynoso, 27, was babysitting the girl as a favor to her mother. When the mother returned home from work on Feb. 1, she discovered her daughter bleeding, prompting her to take her to a hospital, authorities said.

ICE took Reynoso into custody on Feb. 2 as he was coming out of a police precinct, where he appeared for a desk ticket on the child endangerment charge, the New York Post previously reported.

He was turned over to local authorities on March 16. A federal immigration judge issued a deportation order for Reynoso on the same day.

A homeless New York City parolee is back behind bars after allegedly attempting to sexually assault a woman in one of the Big Apple’s most popular tourist spots – just months after reportedly being released for a similar attack.

30-year-old Lateef Caldwell allegedly approached the 45-year-old woman as she was walking in Central Park in Manhattan around 5:40 p.m. on Monday, according to the New York Post.

As Caldwell allegedly attacked the victim in an attempt to rape her, a group of good Samaritans reportedly intervened and chased him from the scene.

California’s get-out-of-jail-free card could put children at risk of horrible violence

In the quiet halls of certain parole hearings across the country, a dangerous experiment is unfolding. It is an experiment that is rooted in the proven research that most people – even violent offenders – age out of crime. But as recent, chilling cases across the country prove, age is not a cure for evil. For example, California’s elderly parole law has become a threat to public safety and will set the smart on crime justice movement back.

I have worked on major criminal justice and public safety reforms across the country. I worked extensively on the "First Step Act," and was in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump when it was signed. I spent my first career as a criminal trial lawyer, representing many people accused of violent and gang crimes.

I also spent time in prison for causing a nonfatal drunken-driving accident, and have been on parole myself. As someone who has devoted much of my advocacy life to second-chance hiring, reentry and making the streets safer through smart on crime policy, California’s sex offender safety valve is the wrong answer.

California has become the test case for a law rooted in science but wrongly applied. Under California Penal Code section 3055, nearly any inmate who is 50 years of age or older and has served at least 20 continuous years is eligible for an elderly parole hearing. The problem with this law is that it includes individuals who raped and kidnapped children. These laws are framed – and often applied – as compassionate release for the infirm, but they are morphing into a parachute for serial child predators which must be stopped.

A failing system

When people are released primarily because of age, without regard for their crimes or the reality of rehabilitation and reentry, we invite disaster. Unsurprisingly, people who manipulated and harmed children have seized on an opportunity to manipulate parole boards and courts.

In fact, some of these people have been sentenced to life imprisonment with dozens of kidnapping, child rape and molestation convictions involving victims as young as 3 years old. They used candy, costume jewelry and Barbie dolls to lure children into their cars before subjecting them to horrific violence.

There is a real difference between a person – with any offense – who is physically or medically infirm, or requires nursing home care, and someone who is deemed elderly at 50. By making age the primary decision factor for heinous offenses against children – which do not decrease at the same rate as other offenses – our communities will be less safe.

The myth of the "aged out" child kidnapper and rapist

Proponents of elderly parole point to statistics showing that recidivism rates for paroled seniors are as low as 1.8%. However, these figures are dangerously misleading when applied to sex offenders. A longitudinal study following sex offenders for 25 years found that 34% committed at least one sexual re-offense after release. For high-risk predators, the "desistance" period is often a mirage. California issued a 2026 report that shows that general crime drops with age, but people in the Sex Offender Management Program over 60 years of age had a 9.5% recidivism rate three years after release.

Certain crimes undoubtedly decrease with age – including murder, drug and alcohol offenses, assaults and even organized gang activity. Child kidnapping, rape and similar offenses that are motivated by deep psychological compulsion do not decrease at the same rate.

The path forward: keep elderly parole, exclude certain offenses

Elderly parole – with certain commonsense conditions and exclusions – makes sense. For example, bills have been proposed to raise the eligibility age to 75 and require 30 years served for violent sexual offenders, while permanently excluding those convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

As people with sexual offenses against children exploit elderly parole laws, advocates and policymakers should come together to enact smart, commonsense reform. This is a far cry from a former gang member who commits a crime at 25 or an immature person who robs a store.

Elderly parole, applied properly, recognizes the relationship between age and most crime. It also must sufficiently guard against risky offenses and offenders. Without these guardrails, our communities will be less safe, and it will be harder – if not impossible – to maintain and enact logical compassionate release and elderly parole laws in the future.

High school basketball coach charged with raping foster daughter, serving victim tequila shots: report

A Massachusetts basketball coach is accused of raping a student under his foster care and providing the underage victim with alcohol.

Scott Marino, 54, appeared in Woburn District Court on Thursday to face charges stemming from an alleged incident in which prosecutors say he gave an 18-year-old female high school student margaritas and shots of tequila before sexually assaulting her inside his home, according to WBTS.

Marino reportedly works as the head coach of the Malden High School girl’s basketball team and as a Linden School educator, teaching students in grades kindergarten through eighth.

The victim was living in foster care with Marino and his wife at the time of the alleged incident, the outlet reported.

Prosecutors allege Marino and the victim attended mass on Ash Wednesday last week before driving into Boston to pick up a seafood dinner and drinks from a local liquor store.

Upon arriving at Marino’s Stoneham home, prosecutors said the coach poured the victim a margarita and a shot of tequila.

The victim told Marino she did not like the drink, but he continued urging her to drink more, prosecutor Jacob McCrindle said, according to the Boston Herald.

When the victim subsequently began feeling sick to her stomach and went into her room to lie down, Marino allegedly sexually assaulted her, the outlet reported.

"This was, clearly some planning went into this, to go get dinner, to provide drinks and engage in the type of behavior that he did over the course of the night," McCrindle reportedly said.

Following the alleged assault, the victim used her phone to contact friends and an aunt, who then called 911 and drove to Marino’s home, according to WCVB.

When the victim’s aunt arrived, the young woman came "running out of the home," prosecutors reportedly said. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital for a full sexual assault examination.

While in court on Thursday, Marino’s defense attorney reportedly pointed to his lack of criminal record and current teaching profession.

"He's never been in court for his life. He's a lifelong member of the community. He's been a coach, he's been a teacher," defense attorney Kevin Mullen said, according to the outlet.

However, McCrindle looked to the victim’s foster care relationship with Marino, expressing that the alleged crimes are especially dangerous given the coach’s caretaker role.

"This is a relationship where the defendant was the victim's foster parent. He took her into his home. That's a position of trust, as well as coupled with the fact that the defendant is a teacher, or was a teacher at the Malden Public Schools, and he was also her coach for many years," the McCrindle said, according to WBTS.

An unnamed woman who played on Marino’s basketball team for four years told WCVB that the charges have left her in disbelief.

He was released on $75,000 bail following his court appearance Thursday and has been placed on leave from Malden Public Schools.

"The district is fully cooperating with relevant law enforcement agencies in their investigation, which is ongoing," Malden Public Schools Superintendent Timothy Sippel said in a statement to WCVB.

EXCLUSIVE: The Department of Homeland Security lodged a detainer Thursday in California in the case of an illegal immigrant accused of a crime that a top official there is calling the "most heinous one we’ve ever seen."

DHS has been pressing sanctuary states and sanctuary cities to respect and honor ICE detainers for public safety and national security reasons, with little headway from those jurisdictions, telling 91�� Digital they hope this is the case that will change their minds.

A 20-year-old Mexican national, Enrique Bautista-Vasquez, was charged with rape, a sentence enhancement for sexual assault of a person unable to consent and sexual assault of a victim deemed to be "particularly vulnerable" and is being held in Indio after the alleged attack in nearby Cathedral City, according to NBC’s Palm Springs affiliate.

The Trump administration alerted 91�� Digital to the detainer request being filed with Sacramento Thursday, with a top DHS official characterizing the alleged crimes as among the worst they've seen.

DHS SLAMS DEMS FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT IMMIGRATION LAW: 'IT IS QUITE LITERALLY THEIR JOB TO CHANGE IT'

On December 31, Bautista-Vasquez encountered the 14-year-old girl — who is autistic and who reports said habitually wanders from home due to her condition — on a nearby small college campus, where officials say he convinced her to follow him through a business park and eventually to his home, according to DHS.

There, Bautista-Vasquez allegedly sodomized the girl and had "vaginal intercourse," according to a police official speaking with local media.

Authorities eventually zeroed in on Bautista-Vasquez’s home, where they found women’s boots and blood on bedsheets, a DHS official said.

Separately, a stolen Texas Social Security card and federal permanent residency card later found to be fraudulent were found on or with Bautista-Vasquez, Cathedral City police told the NBC affiliate; information backed up by DHS.

A top Noem deputy told 91�� Digital she hopes California Gov. Gavin Newsom will essentially break with tradition and honor the detainer her office is lodging against Bautista-Vasquez.

"This depraved illegal alien raped and sodomized a child with autism. Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, ICE took swift action to lodge a detainer with authorities to ensure this child rapist is not released onto our streets," Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said.

"Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee Governor Newsom and his California sanctuary politicians will cooperate and turn this scumbag over to ICE."

The man has a federal final order of removal dated Dec. 16, 2024, when DHS said he was ultimately booted from the U.S. But he returned Jan. 2, 2025, and was released just days before President Donald Trump’s inauguration and subsequent "securing" of the border, according to the agency.

His formal charges in Riverside County are lewd/lascivious acts with a minor and rape.

Reports have emerged from eyewitnesses in Iran alleging sexual assaults on teenagers held in custody, as well as authorities forcing families of those protesters killed to pay as much as 10 billion rials to recover their bodies.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI-US) told 91�� Digital Wednesday that the "barbarity continues" across the nation, with prison detainees allegedly being killed and their bodies burned.

The reports come as Iran’s government claimed it had successfully crushed weeks of unrest that swept the country.

Beginning Dec. 28, the protests erupted amid deep public anger over political repression, economic hardship and state violence before rapidly expanding nationwide.

Safavi also said clashes continued in multiple cities Tuesday night, including "Kermanshah where protesters and armed units of the IRGC fought in parts of the city."

"There was the same in Rasht and Mashhad where the people and the regime will not return to the status quo even if the uprisings have slowed down. This is because of the blood of thousands of martyrs on their hands."

After answering the FaceTime call and witnessing the alleged assault, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump reportedly contacted emergency operators, prompting UK police to respond to the scene on Jan. 18, 2025, shortly after 2 a.m. local time.

The woman, who cannot be named, reportedly claimed that her former Russian partner, 22-year-old Matvei Rumianstev, of east London, was jealous of her friendship with Trump.

She added that she was raped on the day she called Trump and alleged that her ex-boyfriend, who first became violent six months into their relationship, had a history of assaulting her, including stranglings, Metro said, citing hearings at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

According to bodycam footage from the day of the alleged attack, Trump was heard over the phone telling officials, "I just saw a ceiling and could hear screaming. I could see a guy’s head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit."

Trump, who reportedly attempted to call his friend for a casual conversation before finally receiving a callback, said the call lasted only 10 to 15 seconds, after which he contacted the authorities.

According to the 999 emergency call played in court, Trump reportedly said, "I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up."

After giving them her address, he emphasized that, "It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up."

When police arrived, the woman identified their anonymous caller as Trump, explaining, "I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son."

An officer was later heard on bodycam footage telling a colleague, "So apparently, this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son," he said. "This female is friends with Donald Trump’s son. She was on a Facetime with him when this assault happened, and he’s called us."

To confirm to the police, the woman called Trump again, asking, "Hello, Barron, did you call the police or anything?"

"I had someone call the police," Trump said. "I called you guys, that was the best thing I could do. I wasn’t going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse."

During her testimony, the woman said Trump "helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment."

The trial between Trump’s friend and Rumianstev remains ongoing.

While Rumianstev has denied the allegations, the woman said she has been repeatedly attacked and sexually abused, including being raped in November 2024 and on January 18. She also alleged that Rumianstev has been pressuring her to withdraw her complaints.

The Russian defendant, of New Providence Wharf, east London, has denied assault, actual bodily harm, two counts of rape, intentional strangulation and perverting the course of justice.
