Angel mom rips sanctuary state after daughter's alleged killer walked free

Jennifer Bos, whose daughter was allegedly killed and stuffed in a garbage can by an illegal immigrant, criticized the system that allowed her daughter’s alleged killer to walk free.

Megan Bos’ decomposing body was found in Waukegan, Ill., in April 2025. Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, is charged with multiple felonies in connection to her death.

The felonies are not detainable offenses under sanctuary law in Illinois, so Mendoza-Gonzalez walked free after his court appearance, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

"It's absolutely insane," Jennifer Bos told "America Reports" on Thursday. "I can't even understand how they justified this and argued it in Congress to agree to have this happen."

"I mean, he was found with a body in his yard that he had in his possession for 51 days, hidden in a garbage can while everybody was looking for her," she continued.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested him on July 19, 2025.

Megan Bos was allegedly visiting the home of Mendoza-Gonzalez when he said he found her unresponsive from what he believed was a drug overdose, according to DHS. He allegedly left her body in a basement for several days before placing it in a garbage can in his yard, leaving her there for almost two months.

Mendoza-Gonzalez is charged with abuse of a corpse, concealing the death of a person and obstructing justice, but the investigation remains ongoing.

On Thursday, ICE celebrated the one-year anniversary of the relaunch of its Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office, which provides support to angel families.

"After she was found, I spent a few months trying to get him [Mendoza-Gonzalez] arrested to no avail because it just wasn't possible in Illinois with those charges," Jennifer Bos told 91��. "And after ICE came and picked him up, it was shortly after that that I was contacted by the VOICE office."

Bos said the office brought comfort to her after her daughter's slaying, especially during the period when her alleged killer was free.

"When he was free, when I kind of was standing there — stunned — I did feel incredibly alone and it was such a comfort to have them call me and say, ‘We're here for you. You tell us what you need, and we'll figure it out.’ And that's what they did," she said.

VOICE tracks angel families’ perpetrators should they move to be held in different facilities, which Jennifer Bos said was helpful.

The VOICE office was established during President Donald Trump’s first term, but was dismantled during the Biden administration. Former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem relaunched it in April 2025.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said since VOICE’s relaunch, the group has fielded nearly 900 calls from victims, their family members or advocates who needed "real help."

Jennifer Bos criticized claims that immigrants commit crimes at a much lower rate than American-born citizens.

"If it's a crime, if they've murdered somebody, if they altered somebody's life permanently with violence, why does it matter what the percentage of crime they commit as a whole is? It doesn't matter," she said.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., denounced President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) nominee, Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., Wednesday, accusing him of justifying violence.

"If I wished violence on his family, that wouldn't be acceptable. And if he says the violence that happened to me where I had six ribs broken, my lung damaged, part of my lung removed, two pneumonias — if he thinks that's justifiable… I think that makes him unacceptable and unfit to hold office," Paul said Wednesday on "America Reports."

Paul’s comments come after a heated exchange between the two GOP senators during a hearing Wednesday on Mullin’s nomination to replace Kristi Noem as DHS secretary.

"Tell it to my face if that's what you believe. Tell it to me today," Paul said during the hearing. "Tell the world why you believe I deserve to be assaulted from behind, have six ribs broken and a damaged lung."

"I said I could understand because of the behavior you were having, that I could understand why your neighbor … did what he did," Mullin responded in part.

Paul said Mullin justified an attack Paul experienced in 2017, when a neighbor assaulted him, leaving him with six broken ribs and lung damage.

"I had an infection that had a 25% death rate. … I went through hell," Paul told 91��. "And anybody who thinks that that's something that's commendable is an unfit person to lead law enforcement.

"He's actually very proud of endorsing the violence against me."

Paul repeatedly asserted that Mullin is unfit to run the Department of Homeland Security, citing what he called his "bizarre" obsession with and justification of violence.

Paul warned that his GOP colleague's temperament would be dangerous in a position to lead federal law enforcement.

"‘Men will settle their differences by you punching them in the mouth.’ That is his quote," Paul told 91��. "And he doesn't reject any of that. He doesn't say he wants to change. He doesn't say it was in the heat of battle. This is who he is."

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Wednesday that despite the senators' "personal history," Mullin is the "right person" for the job.

Paul told 91�� he expects Mullin will secure the votes to lead DHS but promised Mullin wouldn’t get his vote.

"No. I mean, an apology might have had a chance, but he's had several chances," the Kentucky senator said. "I talked to him privately, and he referred to it that we had political differences."

Socialist NYC Mayor Mamdani clashes with Hochul over tax hikes as some critics warn of catastrophe

Wall Street Journal editor-at-large Gerry Baker warned that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s push to raise taxes on the wealthy will be "catastrophic" as the Democratic socialist clashes with state leaders over securing approval for his tax plan.

"This is socialism in action, this is the Democratic Party in action and the rest of the country's watching," he told 91�� Wednesday

Baker’s remarks on "America Reports" came after Mamdani renewed his calls to increase taxes on high earners, a sentiment firmly opposed by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

"What we are hoping for, what we will spend every day looking towards, is working with Albany to increase taxes on the wealthiest and the most profitable corporations such that a fiscal crisis is not resolved on the backs of working and middle-class New Yorkers," Mamdani said.

Baker noted the Democratic power struggle between Mamdani and Hochul will not work for the mayor if he wants his plans to go through, since his tax proposal requires her approval at the state level.

"He doesn't have the option to raise income taxes without approval from the governor," he said. "So, he's going to try and do it in other ways, raising property taxes."

Mamdani issued an ultimatum to Hochul Tuesday, vowing to raise property taxes by nearly 10% if she fails to comply with his income tax increase on the wealthy.

Also Tuesday, Mamdani proposed the 2027 New York City budget, which is more than double the state budget of Pennsylvania, despite New York City having roughly half the population.

New York City has $127 billion for its population of 8.4 million, while the entire state of Pennsylvania with 13 million people has $53.2 billion.

"They will say, ‘New York City is more, it’s expensive. Everything costs more here, labor is significantly more, wages are higher. So, it's understandable that New York costs will be a little bit higher.’ But there's no justification for that," Baker said

Baker argued that the socialist mayor’s tax plan will not protect the middle class it claims to be helping.

"The plan he has will hit, not just the rich as they keep claiming, but huge numbers of middle-class taxpayers," he said.

The WSJ editor also predicted a mass exodus from New York City as Mamdani’s increased taxes edge closer to becoming reality.

"The idea that that's going to be good for the city, that it's going be good to tax people even more than they are already, is madness," Baker said. "It means more people will leave the city than already have. There's been a steady outflow over many years."

Baker said Hochul has her own left-leaning tendencies in her Democratic governance of New York but wondered whether Mamdani’s extremism will sing louder.

"We're gonna see on whether Kathy Hochul, who wants her own kind of form of sort of limited socialism… whether her limited form is able to trump Zohran Mamdani’s extremism," he said.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed whether President Donald Trump may need to pull another Operation Midnight Hammer against Iran as its leadership refuses to negotiate over its nuclear program.

Joining "America Reports" Wednesday, Bessent discussed the U.S. economy, midterm elections and ongoing nuclear talks with Iran.

"What the Iranians understand is brute force, whether it's in the financial markets, whether it's on the military field and at Treasury, we have exercised maximum pressure," he told 91��. "We're continuing to do that."

Bessent’s remarks come after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the president at the White House earlier Wednesday, where the two had what Bessent described as "very detailed talks."

Trump said "nothing definitive" was reached with Netanyahu in a post on Truth Social after an hours-long meeting.

"If it can, I let the Prime Minister know that will be a preference. If it cannot, we will just have to see what the outcome will be… Last time Iran decided that they were better off not making a deal, and they were hit with Midnight Hammer — That did not work well for them."

The president has been steadily increasing pressure on Iran to agree to the United States’ demand that it dismantle its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Kid Rock slams event ticketing system as a 'complete fiasco' for concert fans

Musician Kid Rock testified before the Senate, arguing that ticket price gouging forces fans into expensive resale markets and that legislation falls short, telling 91�� pricing is "out of control."

Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has been a critic of unfair ticketing issues. He spoke at a Senate Commerce Committee hearing Wednesday, which also included an executive from Ticketmaster's parent company, Live Nation.

"We want to fix ticket pricing — ticket pricing that's been out of control for well over 30 years now," Rock said Wednesday on "America Reports."

Ticketmaster pushed back on Rock’s criticism in a statement to 91�� Digital, writing, "Ticketmaster has already given artists the tools Kid Rock is calling for. We will restrict transfer for any artist that asks with our Face Value Exchange. Over 60 artists have used that already. And, Ticketmaster is the only resale site that will not post resale tickets for an artist’s show at their request. We are the only ticketing company supporting legislation to cap resale profits and opposing legislation to strip artists of their rights to control whether and on what terms others can resell their tickets."

Rock has previously worked with the Trump administration on efforts aimed at curbing ticket scalping. In March 2025, he appeared alongside President Donald Trump in the Oval Office when the president signed an order against ticket scalping.

The order directed the attorney general and Treasury secretary to enforce competition laws, improve price transparency and ensure ticket scalpers comply with existing regulations.

In August 2025, the Federal Trade Commission sued ticket reseller Key Investment Group for allegedly getting around purchasing limits to buy thousands of tickets to live events, then selling them at a markup.

Rock said Trump’s executive order got the ball rolling on the issue, but it’s not at the finish line.

"We’re also trying to get to the root of the problem and hopefully legislation can get drafted where, as an artist, we can get the ticket prices that we set into the hands of the fans for those prices and stop them from being gouged by these bad actors," he added.

Former DHS chief decries Minneapolis mayor's 'unhinged' ICE rhetoric after deadly shooting

Former Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf accused Minneapolis leaders of fueling chaos after a confrontation involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents escalated into violence, leaving a woman dead.

Tension flared in Minneapolis after an I.C.E. agent allegedly shot and killed a woman who authorities say attempted to run over federal officers with her vehicle during an enforcement operation.

"The mayor’s comments were probably some of the most unintelligible, unhinged comments I think I’ve heard in quite some time," Wolf said Wednesday on "America Reports."

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey blamed I.C.E. for the death, telling the agency to "get the f--- out" of the city.

"They’re sowing chaos on our streets — and in this case, quite literally killing people," Frey said.

Wolf pushed back on the mayor’s claims, arguing that anti-I.C.E. rhetoric has made conditions more dangerous.

I.C.E. announced on Tuesday it would carry out what officials described as one of the agency’s largest enforcement operations in Minneapolis.

"It’s because of these policies — it’s because of the mayor’s policies — that they’re having to comb the streets and look for these criminal illegal aliens," Wolf said.

Retired NYPD inspector and 91�� contributor Paul Mauro echoed Wolf’s concerns, saying the confrontation could have been avoided if local authorities were allowed to cooperate with federal agents.

Commerce secretary predicts 'extraordinary year' ahead as inflation drops to 2.7% in November

Members of the Trump administration are highlighting an unexpectedly low inflation report.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the drop is proof the White House’s policies are finally pushing down prices, responding to Democrats who argue the administration hasn’t done enough to improve the economy.

"These things are coming down, and I think what you're going to see next year is an extraordinary year," Lutnick said on "America Reports" Thursday.

The Labor Department reported that inflation eased to 2.7% in November, down from 3% in September. Democrats have criticized the administration, saying it should show more improvement in the economy after its first year.

Lutnick argued the administration’s focus on cutting energy costs and interest rates is paying off. But, while things like gas prices have dropped, so has consumer confidence.

Data from The Conference Board shows consumer confidence fell more than expected last month, hitting the lowest level since this past spring.

Lutnick blamed the drop on the "fake news," arguing the media isn’t showing Americans the full economic picture.

"You've got the president fighting for drug prices to be lower, fighting for energy prices to be lower, fighting for interest rates to be lower. Those are the three big pushes," Lutnick said.

"The other side of the coin is bringing in these trillions of dollars of investment," he added, noting he believes a "golden age" is coming.

The digital trail of President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Crooks tells "quite a different story" than the FBI’s congressional statements about the 20-year-old, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine told "America Reports" Monday.

"We were sort of led to believe that Thomas Crooks was really a ghost, that there was no motive that could be ascertained from his online accounts," Devine discussed. "And yet a source has provided us with a lot of information from 17 different online accounts that Thomas Crook had."

In an op-ed Monday, Devine demanded a "better explanation" from the FBI and Secret Service about what led Crooks to attempt to assassinate Trump over a year ago in Butler, Pa.

On July 13, 2024, Crooks fired off eight shots from a rooftop at Trump during his rally, killing 50-year-old firefighter Corey Comparatore and hitting Trump in the ear. He also injured two rally attendees.

Devine credited a source for several online findings about Crooks, adding fresh scrutiny to the FBI’s statements about the investigation.

The columnist described a commonality between Crooks and Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson, who is charged with the murder of the late conservative activist.

"[Crooks’ accounts] range from, you know, Google Play to that site…called DeviantArt, which is probably the biggest, or one of the biggest hubs online for this sexual fetish called Furries, where people dress up or fantasize about animal characters, cartoon characters that are sort of humanized," Devine told 91�� anchor Sandra Smith.

Crooks allegedly used they/them pronouns on the platform, Devine added. The columnist also sounded the alarm on Crooks appearing to "flip 180 degrees" in his political ideology in January 2020.

"His online comments from — he was very young, I mean 15, 16, 17 — show us about how he became increasingly violent and sort of radicalized against Democrats. He was pro-Trump," Devine explained. "Something happened to make him become rabidly anti-Trump. And again, his rhetoric took more and more of a violent turn. He started brushing up against, there was a neo-Nazi by the name, fake name probably, William Teppers, who started encouraging Crooks in more and more violent rhetoric. And then suddenly something happened in August of 2020, and he just disappeared online."

Although former FBI Deputy Director Paul Abatte told Congress in July 2024 that Crooks’ comments "appear to reflect anti-Semitic and anti-immigration themes to espouse political violence" and "are described as extreme in nature," he did not trace a change in Crooks’ political views.

"We see now from the exposure from our source of this online presence that there is a lot of other information that the FBI either chose not to look at or is somehow keeping it under wraps," Devine asserted.

UC San Diego report finds alarming drop in freshmen math skills, with one in eight below middle school level

A University of California San Diego report warns that roughly one in eight incoming college students can’t meet middle school math standards. It found that the number of students needing to take remedial math courses increased "thirty-fold" over the last five years.

Jeanne Allen, founder and CEO of the Center for Education Reform, says this isn’t a new problem. She said it’s a result of decades of unaccountable schools and a broken system that fails students long before they make it to higher education.

"It really, Sandra, should be shocking to most of us, but sadly, it feels like Groundhog Day again," Allen told "America Reports" Thursday.

The report, done by the school’s Senate Administration Workgroup on Admissions, said Math 2 was created as a high school remedial class. But they found that "most students had knowledge gaps that went back much further, to middle and even elementary school."

"Why are we continuing to accredit these schools, allow them to get public and private money, and yet they're like, ‘Oops, these incoming freshmen, they need remedial education,’?" she asked.

The International Olympic Committee is preparing to ban transgender women from female Olympic events. The Times of London reported Monday that the policy decision comes after a scientific review that found "permanent physical advantages of being born male."

Former Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner, a transgender woman, has long advocated for restricting transgender women from competing in female sports categories.

"I am a trans woman, but I am still biologically male," said Jenner Tuesday on "America Reports."

"I’m XY. There’s nothing I can do to change that. Males do have a better advantage, a big advantage in sports over women. It’s just not fair."

Acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons is pledging to keep President Donald Trump’s promise to have one of the largest deportation efforts the country has seen.

The president was pressed on his immigration policy on Sunday's "60 Minutes" interview on CBS, where he was asked if some of the raids have gone "too far."

"No, I think they haven't gone far enough, because we've been held back by the judges, by the liberal judges that were put in by Biden and by Obama," Trump said. "You have to get the people out, you know? You have, look at the people. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people that were thrown out of their countries because they were, you know, criminals."

Lyons told "America Reports" ICE will work with state and local partners as they identify as many illegal immigrants as they can and "take action on them."

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is calling out sanctuary states for purportedly allowing illegal immigrants to get commercial driver’s licenses, warning that untrained drivers are turning 18-wheelers into "weapons."

Noem singled out California Gov. Gavin Newsom after three people were killed on Oct. 21 in a crash involving an illegal immigrant truck driver.

"He is handing out driver’s licenses to people with no documentation. Some of these individuals aren’t even giving a name," Noem said Thursday on "America Reports."

The secretary said they’ve uncovered driver’s licenses that read "no name given" that were used to get commercial driver’s licenses.

"Lost in the immigrant-bashing is the fact that drivers holding a California-issued CDL are involved in fatal crashes at a rate far lower than the national average," a Newsom spokesperson previously told 91�� Digital.

"If the focus were on safety, California should be a poster child, not a scapegoat."

A New Jersey Democratic councilman is breaking with his party to throw his support behind Republican Jack Ciattarelli in the heated race for governor.

Councilman Jeff Lewis, of Branchville, said his party’s nominee is "not cut out for the job."

"She hasn’t done anything to enthuse me," Lewis said Wednesday on "America Reports."

"All she keeps running with her commercials is the fact she’s a helicopter pilot and a mom of four, and she thinks she’s going to be able to lower electrical bills, which I think she’s going to have a very hard time doing."

The endorsement comes as major Democratic figures line up to support their nominee, including former President Barack Obama, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

"But it doesn’t necessarily mean that through the years I always vote to be with the Democratic Party."

USDA chief warns 'we're right at the cliff' as 40 million Americans brace for food stamp cutoff

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is warning that millions of Americans could lose food stamp benefits starting Nov. 1 because of the ongoing government shutdown.

She blamed Democrats for refusing to vote on measures to reopen the government and restore SNAP funding, saying the USDA is running out of money to keep millions of Americans fed.

"We are right at the cliff. And I’ve been warning about this for almost a month now, that we have enough money to get us through the end of October. But after that, the government has to reopen," Rollins said Tuesday on "America Reports."

They argue that failing to act before open enrollment in November could drive up premiums for millions of Americans, while Republicans say they won’t negotiate until the government is reopened.

"Hunger doesn’t have a political party. Poverty doesn’t distinguish between Republican or Democrat or blue or red states. It’s real," said Rollins.

Democrats have asked the Trump administration to use the federal government’s SNAP contingency funds, but USDA has argued they aren’t legally allowed to use those funds in this situation.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom of violating new federal commercial licensing rules by purportedly allowing an immigrant in the country illegally to maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

That truck driver is accused of causing a freeway crash that resulted in three fatalities on Tuesday in California.

Newsom is blaming the federal government for the crash, arguing its policies ultimately allowed the suspect to receive a license. Duffy rejected that claim.

The dispute comes as the transportation secretary threatens to withhold millions in federal highway funds from California and expands a federal review into how non-citizens acquire state-issued licenses.

According to the Department of Transportation, California violated new federal rules by upgrading Singh’s non-domiciled CDL despite an emergency rule and compliance notice issued Sept. 26.

"If California had complied with the secretary’s emergency rule and prevented the upgrade of this individual’s driving privileges earlier this month, he would have never been able to get behind his big rig," according to a department statement.

The rule was designed to restrict eligibility for noncitizen licenses and require states to verify applicants’ legal status.

The suspect was shot, and a deputy marshal was struck by a ricocheted bullet from a federal agent during the altercation and hospitalized, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California.

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton blasted Democratic leaders for what he called a system that protects lawbreakers, arguing the attack reflects the dangers of anti-ICE rhetoric and emboldened criminals.

Suspect Carlitos Ricardo Parias, a Mexican national, reportedly previously documented Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in southern Los Angeles on TikTok. His posts earned him recognition from a city councilman for his efforts to inform the community.

Justice Department officials said Parias has avoided capture before. A DOJ statement noted officers positioned their vehicles to stop the suspect from driving. When he apparently recognized the vehicles as belonging to law enforcement, he reversed and was boxed in, according to the DOJ's U.S. Attorney's Office, Central District of California.

He allegedly ignored commands to exit and repeatedly rammed two law enforcement cars, creating smoke and debris. A federal agent opened fire and struck Parias, and a ricocheted bullet hit a deputy marshal, the office's statement said.

Hilton has accused Democratic lawmakers of prioritizing illegal immigrants while ignoring those who entered the country legally.

"I was talking to a whole group of legal immigrants here in Los Angeles who were saying they are sick of this. They are sick of the demonization of ICE," said Hilton, who is a legal immigrant.

He partly blamed the rise in violence during arrests on anti-ICE rhetoric from political leaders.

Lawmakers in California have been especially vocal against ICE raids. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is demanding Congress investigate the "unlawful" detentions of both U.S. citizens and illegal immigrants by ICE.

An official at the Department of Homeland Security argued it’s anti-ICE rhetoric, not officers, putting lives at risk.

"These are the consequences of conduct and rhetoric by sanctuary politicians and activists who urge illegal aliens to resist arrest. Resisting arrest puts the safety of illegal aliens, law enforcement and the public at risk," DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to 91�� Digital.

Hilton questioned how much worse the situation must get before lawmakers agree to tone down their language.

"These people are really causing dangerous conditions on our streets," he said.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry is putting criminal illegal migrants on notice with an ad promoting "Louisiana Lockup," a detention facility built inside the nation’s largest maximum-security prison.

The ad highlights Louisiana’s push to combat crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Landry said the facility will hold migrants convicted of serious offenses and serve as a deterrent to criminals nationwide.

"If you're in this country and you're conducting illegal criminal activity, what we want you to know is you either get out of the country or we've got a place for you," Landry warned Wednesday on "America Reports."

The governor said he hoped the facility would serve as a model for other Republican-led states cracking down on criminal illegal migrants.

The political ad, which was released Sept. 29, sends a direct message to offenders.

"The whole concept is to try to get these folks, who are the worst of the worst, out of state penitentiaries around the country and consolidate them where they can't continue to run their criminal enterprises," he said.

The launch of "Louisiana Lockup" followed Florida’s "Alligator Alcatraz," a similar migrant detention facility that opened earlier in 2025. The Florida site faced legal challenges to remain open, but in September, a federal appeals court halted a lower court’s order to shut it down.

The Louisiana facility has come under scrutiny over claims of detainee mistreatment and a reported hunger strike. DHS released a statement denying those claims in September.

"Here are the facts: there is no hunger strike at Louisiana Lockup. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last, that the media repeats unsubstantiated, false allegations peddled by criminal illegal aliens," said DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin in a press release.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin criticized Democrats in his state for what he called their "lack of courage" after party leaders refused to denounce attorney general candidate Jay Jones over a text message that threatened political opponents and police officers.

"He texted that he wanted to put two bullets in our former speaker of the House's head and see his children die. And then a few cops should die as well," Youngkin said Tuesday on "America Reports."

"We have Democrat leaders across the state who are trying to pretend like he didn't really say this."

In a separate 2020 incident, Jones allegedly suggested that if more police officers were killed, they would shoot fewer people, according to a former colleague who spoke to Virginia Scope.

"The reality is Abigail Spanberger, who is the Democrat candidate for governor, had three chances in a recent debate for her to say that she doesn't support Jay Jones anymore. And she refused to do it," Youngkin said.

During the debate, Spanberger condemned Jones' comments as "abhorrent" but stopped short of pulling her endorsement.

Legal expert calls out 'ironic' twist as NY AG who prosecuted Trump faces federal bank fraud charges

New York Attorney General Letitia James is facing federal charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.

George Washington University law professor and 91�� contributor Jonathan Turley highlighted the irony of the charges, noting they follow James’ years-long prosecution of President Donald Trump on similar grounds.

"What’s really ironic is she just asked for half a billion dollars of damages against Trump in a case where no one lost any money. In fact, the bank made money," Turley told "America Reports" on Friday.

"In this case, the government's alleging that she made serious money, that by misrepresenting the status of this property, she made thousands of dollars."

James faces one count of bank fraud and one count of making false statements to a financial institution. According to the indictment, she falsely claimed a Virginia home was her personal second residence to secure favorable loan terms, while actually renting it out.

Trump has previously called for Justice Department action against James, something Turley said may hinder the case.

Turley suggested that moving forward, James may claim to be the target of "vindictive prosecution" and "selective prosecution." He said Trump’s social media posts urging the DOJ to take action will likely be a central piece of evidence in their defense.

Turley also noted he believes the odds will favor James. He said her legal team is likely to challenge the appointment of the acting U.S. attorney who signed off on the charges.

"James is likely to say that the acting U.S. attorney who signed off on these charges was not appropriately appointed and therefore should not have held that office," Turley explained.

"If that is the case, then the indictment would go down."

DOJ OPENS GRAND JURY INVESTIGATION INTO LETITIA JAMES TIED TO TRUMP CIVIL CASE

James and her supporters have framed the charges as politically motivated.

"He is forcing federal law enforcement agencies to do his bidding, all because I did my job as the New York State attorney general," James said in a video posted online.

New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani called the prosecution "an attack on our city" and "a blatant miscarriage of justice."

Turley questioned why similar outrage was not expressed during James’ prosecution of Trump.

"I don't remember Mamdani coming out and denouncing James when she ran for office on the pledge to nail Donald Trump for something, not even specifying what it might be," he said.

"None of these people were objecting to any of that lawfare."

"Border czar" Tom Homan announced that Texas National Guard troops began operations Tuesday in Illinois to protect federal immigration officers amid what he described as a sharp rise in attacks targeting ICE personnel.

"They’re on the ground, and they started working last night," Homan confirmed on "America Reports" Wednesday.

About 200 members of the Texas National Guard were mobilized for the mission, which the Pentagon says is intended to protect federal "functions, personnel and property."

The deployment follows more than a dozen arrests near an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, where anti-ICE protests have continued for several days.

"Thank God for Governor Abbott," said Homan.

"He's sending troops out there to help protect ICE officers who have [seen] over [a] 1,000% increase in attacks."

PRITZKER SAYS TRUMP ORDERING 400 MEMBERS OF THE TEXAS NATIONAL GUARD TO ILLINOIS, OREGON AND OTHER LOCATIONS

But Illinois leaders have strongly opposed the move.

Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson have accused federal immigration officers of both harassment and racial profiling.

"Let me be clear, Donald Trump is using our service members as political props and as pawns in his illegal effort to militarize our nation’s cities," Pritzker said Monday, standing alongside Johnson.

"The state of Illinois is going to use every lever at our disposal to resist this power grab and get Noem’s thugs the hell out of Chicago."

Homan blasted the governor’s comments as "disgusting," arguing that this level of rhetoric has fueled recent violence against law enforcement.

He pointed to three separate attacks in Texas, including an officer shot in the neck at a detention facility in Alvarado and a sniper attack in Dallas that killed two detainees.

The Department of Homeland Security also pushed back on Pritzker’s claims, calling them "reckless" and "categorically false."

In a statement, DHS said agents have arrested more than 1,000 illegal immigrants in Illinois, including convicted pedophiles, child abusers and gang members.

"What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity," they wrote in a statement online.

Homan said he’s been warning for months that anti-law enforcement rhetoric would lead to tragedy.

"I said back in March that if the hateful rhetoric didn’t stop from politicians, from mayors, and governors, and some members of Congress, there will be bloodshed," Homan said.

"Unfortunately, I was right."

Iowa lawmaker blasts 'laughing stock' Des Moines school board over hiring of superintendent arrested by ICE

An Iowa congresswoman called for "radical accountability" Wednesday from the Des Moines Public Schools chair, whose former superintendent is entangled in an immigration scandal.

"Jackie Norris is out there calling for radical empathy for an illegal artist, an illegal con artist," Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, told 91��' "America Reports." "And I'm calling for radical accountability for all these taxpayers and the parents that he fleeced in this process."

Ian Andre Roberts resigned as superintendent after ICE arrested him Sept. 26 on accusations he was living in the U.S. illegally and had a prior weapons offense. ICE said agents found a gun, a hunting knife and $3,000 in cash in his vehicle.

Roberts entered the U.S. from Guyana in 1999 and was issued a formal removal order in 2024, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

DES MOINES PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD ACCEPTS SUPERINTENDENT'S RESIGNATION AFTER ICE ARREST

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told 91�� that Roberts’ record stretches back further. He was arrested in 1994 on charges of vehicle theft and drug trafficking before reentering the U.S. in 1999.

As the Justice Department investigates the Iowa school district’s potential illegal hiring practices, Hinson blamed Roberts' hiring on the school board’s "complete and utter incompetency."

"The Des Moines School District is a laughingstock right now," Hinson said. "And it shouldn't be. We should be educating students."

Hinson and Norris, who previously served as Michelle Obama’s chief of staff, are both running for the U.S. Senate seat that Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, will vacate when she retires.

Hinson argued her political opponent "does not have an ounce of credibility left" and addressed the consequences she wants to see.

"I think that there are a lot more questions than answers at this point about their hiring practices and what they're doing," she said.

Meanwhile, Norris called the school board a "victim of deception" in a statement Wednesday about Roberts' credentials.

"The Des Moines School Board is also a victim of deception by Dr. Roberts, one on a growing list that includes our students and teachers, our parents and community, our elected officials and Iowa’s Board of Educational Examiners, and others," Norris said. "We are committed to the community we serve and will find ways to improve our entire process as we move forward."

The full statement addressed "speculation" surrounding Roberts' resume, which falsely indicated he earned a doctorate from Morgan State University.

When Roberts was hired, the school board knew he did not graduate from Morgan State University, according to the board's statement.

Georgetown College GOP member demands 'full investigation' of leftist club's flyers referencing Kirk death

A member of the Georgetown College Republicans board demanded a "full investigation" of a leftist gun club after its recruitment flyers referenced Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk's assassination.

"I think that everybody in the Georgetown community shares how much horror and dissentiment that we have over the fact that these flyers were there in the first place," Knox Graham told "America Reports" on Thursday.

91�� Digital obtained photos Wednesday of red flyers posted on campus that read "Hey fascist! Catch!" from the John Brown Gun Club, a group tied to leftist activism and past violence, before they were removed. The club is not affiliated with Georgetown, according to the university's CampusGroups club database.

The same phrase was reportedly written on a shell casing belonging to Tyler Robinson, Kirk's suspected assassin, who was charged with one count of aggravated murder. On Sept. 10, Robinson allegedly shot Kirk in the neck while the conservative activist spoke at Utah Valley University.

A second wave of posters taped up Thursday night in the school’s main free speech zone mocked Kirk’s assassination. One showed Kirk’s face with his eyes blacked out alongside the words "Follow your leader" and "Rest in p---, Charlie."

Georgetown University removed both posters and reported both incidents to the FBI, according to its statement Thursday.

Its QR code linked to a page that said, "We're building a community that's done with ceremonial resistance and strongly worded letters. If you want to make a real change in your community, let us know below."

Graham recounted seeing "a handful" of flyers on campus.

"I first heard about these flyers when I was sitting in a classroom, and, immediately after my class ended, I rushed out to go ahead and see if they were there for myself," Graham said. "I think by the time that I got there, the university had taken most of them down."

The College Republicans member described the "darker" message he thinks the flyers send.

"Well, the effort that the poster implies, I think, is to bring out some of the darker sentiments that we've seen on the internet in the aftermath of Mr. Kirk's assassination — to bring those out into the real world," Graham said.

However, he added he doesn’t believe there are "absolutely any" at Georgetown who share the flyer’s sentiments, calling them "entirely antithetical" to the Catholic and Jesuit university’s mission.
