Impeding ICE officials is obstruction of justice; we are 'not going to tolerate it,' says Donalds

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., said backstage at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit Friday in Tampa, Florida, that any official impeding federal officials from enforcing immigration laws is obstructing justice, and they will be held to account in his state.

"You're not allowed to impede ICE officers trying to do their duty. That's obstruction of justice," Donalds told reporters on Friday while backstage at the conference for young Republicans.

"We're not gonna tolerate it in our state, and Governor DeSantis feels the same way. And this is why they're not really trying to do that here in Florida. They might try that mess in California or New Jersey, but it's not happening here."

For his part, President Donald Trump Friday evening also signaled a tougher line against those who would disrupt federal agents from their immigration enforcement duties.

"I am giving Total Authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the Public," Trump wrote on his Truth Social account. "I never want to see a car carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again! AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Trump Jr talks father's attempted assassination as one-year anniversary nears

Backstage at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit being held in Tampa, Florida, on Friday, Donald Trump Jr. called his father's assassination attempt a "galvanizing moment for Americans."

"That was a phone call I was hoping I would never, ever receive, and then I almost got it again a couple weeks later, but it's one year and it's amazing what's happened since then. I think it was truly a galvanizing moment for America, for Americans, to see that true American spirit when he came back up and said 'fight, fight, fight," Trump told reporters backstage at the conference.

He added that his father's example of resilience is proof of why he will be "so good in so many of these difficult positions" the country is facing.

"We need a leader who can rise to the occasion under fire," Trump said. "As rough of a time as that was, as difficult as it was -- I was there with my kids, having to experience that, having to explain that to them -- I think for our country it was such a unifying moment."

Trump concluded that, in the end, "it was just something that worked out well."

Laura Ingraham tells TPUSA conference Democratic Party is 'so far left, it's left America'

91爆料' Laura Ingraham slammed the Democratic Party for going "so far left" that it has "left America," during an address Friday to attendees at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit held in Tampa, Florida.

Ingraham pointed to "the rise of commie Mamdani" in the New York City Democratic mayoral primary and polling that showed in a hypothetical Senate primary matchup in Texas progressive "squad" Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, would garner 35% of the vote.

"That's good news," Ingraham told the young crowd Friday evening. "Now, why is that great? Because it tells us that the Democrat Party is so far left. It's left America. They're gone."

She said evidence of this was New York City being "ready to embrace full fledged communism" through Mamdani, self-avowed socialist.

"Price controls, communes not private property, abolish the police, all of that. If what he's saying is true -- but he could be like an Obama and just be kind of saying that and he'll do kind of Obama stuff, so he could be doing a whole shell game on this, we don't really know. But we do know that young people who who are traditionally calling themselves Democrats are really now socialists. And this is spreading in blue cities across the country. This is good news because it tells us they are totally out of ideas."

Ingraham's comments followed her offering up a so-called "land acknowledgement" aimed at poking fun at liberals who often do as much to pay homage to Native Americans, earning her laughter from the young audience.

"Now, I also have something I have to acknowledge before we we get into the remarks tonight. And this is this is a very serious I want to acknowledge that we're all standing and sitting on stolen land. The proud Toka Baga tribe -- Indian tribe -- lived here, hunted and gathered here from 980 to the early 1600s," Ingraham said Friday. "So tonight we should all be ashamed of ourselves and each of us. I want you to dig deep. Each of us needs to make a donation to Elizabeth Warren."

Trump Jr: Officials obstructing father's immigration operations 'need to face some consequences'

After speaking to young Republicans on Friday afternoon at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida, Donald Trump Jr. took a moment to slam Democratic officials who have been interfering with his father's attempts to deport illegal aliens.

"If they're breaking the law and they're obstructing federal government for doing the things that A.) my father was elected to do, Congress unanimously funded -- they need to face some consequences," Trump Jr. said.

He added that if Republicans "were breaking the law" Democrats would be taking every step possible to throw them in jail.

"If we were doing these things -- when we weren't breaking the law they tried throwing us in jail, " Trump Jr. said. "Enough, is enough, we have to be able to mandate and allow these agencies to do what they need to do, to allow the will of the people to be heard, and to deport many criminals who have taken over our country, who have destroyed our cities."

"I understand the Democrats only think, 'It's a couple of buildings in Colorado, and a couple of buildings in Texas.' It's much worse than that," the president's son continued. "We have to stop the drug trafficking, we have to stop the human trafficking, we have to stop this insanity and we have to create an environment where Americans can actually succeed. Where we're not funding every possible up-side benefit for illegals that Americans are paying for and struggling to pay for themselves and they're also handling this. It doesn't work. Those people have to be held accountable."

Hegseth touts 'DEI is dead at DOD' during address to young conservatives

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told the young crowd at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit Friday that one of the president's first demands of him was to "restore the warrior ethos" to the military.

"I need you to get the military back to basics," Hegseth recalled Trump telling him shortly after choosing him to lead the Pentagon.

Hegseth went on to tell the young conference attendees that under previous administrations the military was "distracted" by "ideology and social justice," which made its job "more complicated and difficult."

"So from day one, we have declared that DEI is dead at DOD," Hegseth touted to the crowd.

"We're going back to gender neutral, colorblind, merit based performance standards," he continued. "We do readiness. We do accountability. We do war fighting. We do lethality. We don't do social experiment experiments. We don't do politics. I don't care in my formations -- I mean, I have my political views and you have yours -- but I don't care in my formation if you're a a Republican or a Democrat."

GOP Rep draws from past to slam Mamdani proposal to bring back government-run food stores

Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds drew from his childhood in Brooklyn to slam Democrat New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's proposal to create government-run grocery stores.

"My former home city has lost its mind. They are bringing in some guy named Mamdani," Donalds told attendees at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit held Friday in Tampa.

"This guy wants to bring back government supermarkets. I say bring it back because the government used to be in the food distribution business," Donalds added, before pointing out that before the government ran its own grocery stores in an effort to help low-income individuals.

"For anybody who's old enough, they would tell you that if you were poor, like I was in New York City, you would stand in line to get cheese, peanut butter and a bunch of other things. The government would give the stuff out. I've stood in those lines as a young kid. That's the history. That's the truth," Donalds recounted Friday at the youth Republican conference.

"The government was so bad at it, they got out of that business and just gave people these things called food stamps. We now call them Snap benefits. And that's what they gave people to go to the supermarket and buy it for themselves. Because at some point, somebody realized giving away food out of a government store is not what the government should be doing."

Donalds then slammed Mamdani for wanting to bring back a solution that has been proven to be ineffective.

"He somehow thinks that he is smarter than all economics, than all of human history -- and thinks he can actually deliver for the people of New York City."

Trump Jr talks moment he was with daughter Kai after finding out father got shot

Donald Trump Jr. shared about the moment he was with his daughter, Kai, roughly a year ago when together they found out his father had been shot, during an appearance at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit held Friday in Tampa.

After Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk began asking Trump Jr. about his father's feud with blue state governors over their decision to let transgender folks continue to participate in women's sports, his daughter, Kai, was brought into the conversation.

"We're both fathers of daughters. Your daughter is a very good golfer," Kirk told Trump Jr. before the crowd began cheering. "I told you she had a lot of fans here," Kirk quipped.

Trump Jr. and Kirk then joked about the fame his daughter has taken on as the president's granddaughter, who also happens to be a very talented golfer. Eventually, Trump Jr. pivoted to telling the audience and Kirk about the moment he was with Kai last year after finding out his father had been shot at a rally in Pennsylvania.

"I was with her, on July 13th when my father was shot. I got an unusual call from my daughter that morning saying, 'Hey, I want to go fishing.' Which, you know, if you have a teenage daughter ... you're not often calling dad to go do something. So when you call dad he's going to do it."

Trump Jr. recounted how the pair were roughly 13 or 14 miles offshore when they "got the call" that his father, Kai's grandfather, had been shot.

"I picked up my phone. It's like 'Your dad's been shot.' ... We didn't know anything. And we're frantically kind of calling. I guess the only thing that I guess they did right that day was shut down other communications," Trump Jr. recounted.

"I think we set the sea speed record from offshore into Jupiter, where we live and, you know, finally we were able to get my dad on the phone and, you know, it was sort of a harrowing thing," Trump Jr. continued. "By then we had seen some of the videos of him coming back up with a sort of 'fight, fight, fight,' and I just got on the phone ... I'm not usually at a loss for words, but that was one of those where I was like, 'I got nothing.'"

Trump Jr. joked about asking his father, when he finally reached him over the phone, about the status of his hair, something that eased the awkward tension of the ongoing moment.

"It normalized the situation," Trump Jr. said of the question about his father's hair.

Trump Jr. then shared how the pivotal moment with his daughter that day launched her foray into the political spotlight.

"My daughter was with me, and, Kai has probably spent more time with my dad one-on-one than I have," Trump Jr. said. "She's like his golf buddy, and she plays with him every weekend when he was around, and that was all the time, and she called me that next morning and she was like, 'You know what? I want to speak at the RNC.'"

Charlie Kirk touts 'greatest generational realignment since Woodstock' at youth conference in Tampa

Charlie Kirk touted the shifting values of todays young generations during Friday's Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida, on Friday, noting that the country is currently seeing "the greatest generational realignment since Woodstock."

The comment came as the TPUSA founder and president began discussing the need to prioritize things in life like family, as opposed to the more artificial aspects, such as "how many trips to Thailand you make" or "how many nights out at the club" you have.

"What matters is things that are hard," Kirk told the young audience, which spontaneously broke out in chants of "U.S.A.!" during Kirk's opening address at Friday's Tampa conference.

Kirk then went on to tell the crowd that what struck him the most about "this generation" was that it is the "most conservative generation" the country has seen in "well over 50 years."

"The numbers show it," Kirk argued. "This is this is the greatest generational realignment since Woodstock. We have never seen a generation move so quickly and so fast, and you guys are making all the liberals confused."

One example Kirk pointed to to prove his point was church attendance.

"Church attendance was going down steadily in America the last 20 years," Kirk told the young conference attendees. "It's gone up slightly because this is the most religious generation that we have seen in 40 years. Do you understand the significance of that?"

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk opens up programming at Tampa conference

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk kicked off the 2025 Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida, on Friday with a rousing speech that got the crowd of students ready for a slate of high-profile speakers that include RNC chairman Michael Whatley, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump Jr.

"This is the largest student action summit in history, by far, nearly double the size of the one we had a couple of years ago," Kirk told the crowd Friday.

The TPUSA founder pointed out it had been 13-years since the founding of the group, and Kirk said that if you had told him back when he started about the impact that TPUSA would have on American politics, he wouldn't have believed them.

"If you would have told me 13 years later [after starting TPUSA] that we would have someone running for the presidency as a Republican winning the youth vote in major states, I would say, 'How would that be possible?'"

"Thirteen years ago we started the journey. It was chapter by chapter, student by student, person by person," Kirk added.

Student Action Summit will help America remain 鈥榝ree and strong鈥 for generations, Kirk believes

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk told 鈥楩ox & Friends鈥 on Friday that there is a 鈥渓ot of hope鈥 ahead of the kickoff of this year鈥檚 Student Action Summit, an event he believes 鈥渨ill help make sure America remains free and strong for generations to come.鈥

鈥淲e will have 7,000 students here in Tampa, Florida,鈥 Kirk said. 鈥淧resident Trump won the youth vote back in November. The younger generation delivered the White House for President Trump 鈥 so we are celebrating that.

鈥淏ut also the work is not done. We have a mandate to fulfill; we have a lot of work to do. We have to try to create this vanguard against the rise of Mamdani-ism, as we are seeing in this country,鈥 Kirk added, referencing the Democrat running for New York City mayor.

鈥淲e have Pete Hegseth, we have Kristi Noem, we have Greg Gutfeld 鈥 we have amazing speakers that will be here 鈥 Laura Ingraham. This remnant that we are building with younger voters is one of the most important generational investments 鈥 because we could talk about the One Big, Beautiful Bill and all the stuff on Capitol Hill 鈥 but what happens on college campuses doesn鈥檛 stay on college campuses,鈥 Kirk also said. 鈥淚t will grow into corporate life, it will grow into the halls of Congress. And what Turning Point USA is doing is here this weekend in Tampa, Florida, I believe will help make sure America remains free and strong for generations to come.鈥

Kirk describes the 鈥榣eading ingredient鈥 for radical politics in the United States

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk told 鈥楩ox & Friends鈥 on Friday that the 鈥渓eading ingredient鈥 for radical politics in the United States is a 鈥減ermanent renting class鈥 among America鈥檚 youth.

Kirk, speaking hours before the kickoff of his organization's Student Action Summit 2025 in Tampa, Florida, said 鈥淲e need to have a national project 鈥 and I believe President Trump will be able to accomplish this 鈥 how do we get more young people under the age of 35 to have equity in the system?

鈥淣ot the Democrat version of equity where they want to have redistribution. But actually ,are they paying a mortgage? Do they own stuff or are they permanent renters?鈥 Kirk added. 鈥淎 permanent renting class in this country is the leading ingredient for radical politics that nobody wants to see.

鈥淲e need to reinvigorate the ownership economy. And then all the sudden, when you own stuff you are less likely to burn down a Wendy鈥檚 and vote for candidates like Zohran Mamdani,鈥 Kirk also in reference to the socialist running to be mayor of New York City.

Kirk warns 鈥楳amdani effect鈥 metastasizing in the Democratic Party with 鈥榞rievance-based politics'

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk sounded the alarm on Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani鈥檚 run for New York City mayor, Friday, and why young people need to choose optimism over "grievance-based politics."

Kirk joined "Fox & Friends" where he was asked about Abdul El-Sayed, a Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan who has been tying himself to Mamdani, and what a socialist mayor in New York City would mean for the Democratic Party.

"The Mamdani effect is going to metastasize in the Democrat Party. Now, how successful it will be in a general election, I don鈥檛 know, I still have my skepticism. But the Mamdani effect is grievance-based politics, playing into people鈥檚 bitterness, and also playing into the economic disorder that Biden left us," Kirk said.

"President Trump is going to fix this, and he is aiming to fix this," Kirk continued. "But understand, for the younger voters that I represent and the younger voters that delivered the White House for President Trump, they can鈥檛 afford homes, they鈥檙e increasingly renting, they鈥檙e not getting married, they鈥檙e not having children, so there are two ways this can go."

Kirk said young people can either take an "optimistic, patriotic vision like President Trump is offering," or a "very dark and sinister vision 鈥 one that is anti-Western, anti-American, anti-civilization." He believes far-left Democrats like Mamdani have embraced the latter.
